Obviously a place where a lot is going on. 🙂
Man, *why* does this remind me of Traveller?
I want to get a game going, too. have been thinking about castle falkenstein – what do you figure? we could run the game on a blog with each participant posting when it is his character’s time to act. with images, of course. don’t look at my wordpress page — hell, though it has some pics you might like it’s all too laced up. i should be blogging like you. i might, too, hell.
“There’s quite a community of smart gaming bloggers that I’ve fallen into (the DIY DnD end of the “Old School”) and it’s been fun trying to keep up with them.” how do i fall into that community myself?
i found you through an image search – no longer remember what that was – there is so much fun here!
thanks! The blogroll to the side here is a place to start, but I recommend Jeff Rients’ blogroll as a pretty encyclopedic view of what’s going on. http://jrients.blogspot.com
and Zak Smith (on the roll over on the right) – lately he’s been putting out less actual content but his archives have gold like http://dndwithpornstars.blogspot.nl/2010/05/snakes-are-books.html
and http://dndwithpornstars.blogspot.nl/search/label/alphabetical%20monster%20thing (which is a trawl through the monster manual reimagining everything along the way. He’s also done the Fiend Folio)

if there’s something specific you want to look for, then OSR Search

might help (by Brendan of http://www.necropraxis.com/ )
!! Also +Erik Jensen of http://wampuscountry.blogspot.com
there are lots and lots of others, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Erik up front: runs a great game of whimsical American Frontier folklore. Actually funny.
the other thing is, lots of these folks are also on Google+, where there’s a lively gaming community getting together over online video chat, playing houseruled original DnD and similar games. +zak smith is a good central point for that, too: if you ask him to share his gaming circle with you then you’ll suddenly get a ridiculous flood of content
cool, thanks!
